Known for trust, safety, and natural-looking results, Younique Aesthetics Clinic has become a standout in the Northern Irish
aesthetics landscape. We spoke with Aine Larkin, nurse and founder, about the clinic’s journey, patient-focused approach, and
the treatments that make it so highly regarded – including how carefully selected products support their results.

Q1. What was the original vision behind Younique Aesthetics Clinic, and what do you believe has been the foundation of its success?
The vision was always clear: I wanted to create a clinical environment where patients could feel completely safe and confident. Safety, trust, and professionalism have always been my guiding principles.
Unfortunately, there are many stories of unlicensed treatments or poorly trained practitioners causing complications, so I knew patients needed a space where medical standards were paramount. Younique Aesthetics Clinic was designed as that space – ethically run, medically-led, and staffed with highly trained professionals. I believe that focus on trust and patient care has been the foundation of the clinic’s long-term success.

Q2. How has the clinic evolved over the years as the aesthetics industry has grown and changed?
I’ve been in aesthetics for 21 years, and when I first started, injectable treatments were niche and often feared. Patients were cautious, and there was little reliable information. Over the years, research, safety
protocols, and product development have evolved dramatically, making treatments far more accessible and predictable. At Younique, we’ve evolved alongside the industry – expanding treatment options, refining techniques, and focusing on holistic patient care. Today, aesthetics is about natural, subtle enhancement that boosts confidence while respecting both physical and emotional wellbeing.

Q3. Patient experience is now just as important as clinical outcomes. How do you ensure every stage of the patient journey reflects the standards of your clinic?
Consultation is the cornerstone of our approach. Coming from a medical background, I treat every patient like I would in a hospital setting – thorough history-taking, careful questioning, and active listening.
Mental health awareness has also become a key part of patient assessment. Some patients may present vulnerabilities, or concerns such as body dysmorphia, where treatment could do more harm than good. In those cases, we provide guidance or referrals, prioritising patient wellbeing over simply saying “yes” to a treatment. For us, aesthetics is holistic – understanding the person, not just the procedure.

Q4. Which treatments are particularly popular at Younique Aesthetics Clinic, and why do patients respond so well to them?
Our most popular treatments focus on facial refreshment and balance. Facial profiling is a signature
approach – assessing proportions and subtly enhancing areas like the cheeks, chin, or lips to create harmony and symmetry. Patients love these treatments because the results are natural and flattering. They leave looking refreshed and confident, not “done.” We use carefully selected products, including Belotero, which is reliable, and allows us to achieve predictable outcomes that patients can feel
completely comfortable with.

Q5. How do the products and treatments you choose reflect the values of Younique Aesthetics Clinic?
Every product we use is chosen with safety, efficacy, and patient wellbeing in mind. Products from the Merz Aesthetics portfolio are a great example – they are clinically proven, thoroughly researched, and
consistently deliver high-quality results. Using trusted products like these allows us to focus on natural, flattering outcomes while maintaining ethical practice. It also supports how we teach and mentor future practitioners, emphasising safe techniques, patient care, and achieving results that patients love. Ultimately, patient safety, trust, and subtle, confidence-boosting results guide every treatment we offer.
