Mr. Woods is a Consultant Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon at St Vincent’s University Hospital, appointed in 2024. He holds MA (Oxon), MB, MCh, MSc, FEBHS, and FRCS (Plast), and is a graduate of both Oxford University and the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, where he achieved First Class Honours in Medicine. He completed higher surgical training in Ireland, earning Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons and the European Board of Hand Surgery, and received the JJ Fitzsimons Gold Medal in Surgery.
He has undertaken prestigious international fellowships in microsurgery at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York, skin cancer and head and neck surgery at Oxford University Hospitals, and aesthetic surgery at the Cadogan Clinic in London. His clinical expertise spans microsurgery, skin cancer, aesthetic, breast, hand, and head and neck surgery.
Mr. Woods is widely published, with over 25 peer-reviewed papers and multiple textbook contributions, and has secured competitive research and innovation funding. Professor Nicola Ralph is a Consultant Dermatologist on the Specialist Register for Dermatology in Ireland and an honours graduate of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. She began her dermatology training at the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital, where she developed a specialist interest in photodermatology. This led to her current MD research as Principal Investigator in a major European multicentre study on photopatch testing, ongoing since 2015. She was appointed Consultant Dermatologist at the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital in 2014 and also practices at the Mater Private Hospital and Blackrock Clinic.
