Dr Amanda Hong of South William Clinic in Dublin has been named Leinster’s Practitioner of the Month, recognised for her patient-centred approach and expertise in regenerative aesthetics, helping people look and feel their best.”
What inspired you to enter the field of aesthetics? Tell me about your journey as a practitioner.
My journey into aesthetics was driven by a desire to help people feel more confident and comfortable in themselves. I’ve always been drawn to the intersection of medicine and wellbeing by supporting not just how patients look, but how they feel.
Over time, my approach has evolved towards regenerative aesthetics, where the focus is on restoring and supporting the skin’s natural function rather than simply altering appearance. It’s about helping patients feel like the best version of themselves, in a way that is subtle, natural, and
long-lasting.
What is the most rewarding part about working in aesthetics?
What I find most rewarding is the transformation in confidence. It’s often not the physical change itself, but the way a patient carries themselves afterwards; their ease, and their self-assurance.
Being able to play a role in helping someone feel more like themselves again is incredibly fulfilling, and it’s something I never take for granted.
Do any particular client stories stand out as moving or memorable?
One particularly memorable case was a patient living with CREST syndrome, which had significantly affected the skin around her mouth. For years, she felt unable to go out without covering her face with a
scarf or mask. Through a carefully tailored treatment approach, we were able to restore the area to a point where she felt comfortable and confident again. Seeing her reclaim that sense of normality and being able to go out without feeling the need to hide, that in itself was incredibly moving. It’s moments like these that truly highlight the impact of this work.

Which aesthetics trends do you see emerging in 2026/2027 and how are you, as a practitioner planning to stay ahead?
We’re seeing a clear shift towards regenerative aesthetics. That means treatments that work in harmony with the body to stimulate collagen, improve skin quality, and deliver long-term results. Patients are
becoming more informed and are increasingly seeking subtle, natural outcomes rather than dramatic changes.
This aligns closely with my own practice, as I come from a background in regenerative and functional medicine. Staying ahead means continuing to invest in advanced training and offering treatments that prioritise skin health, longevity, and authenticity.
How do you help clients decide which treatment is right for them?
My approach is always patient-led and highly personalised. Every consultation begins with understanding the individual. I look into their concerns, their goals, and their lifestyle, including how much downtime
they’re comfortable with.
From there, I combine that insight with my clinical expertise to create a tailored treatment plan. It’s a collaborative process, ensuring patients feel informed, confident, and aligned with the approach we take.
How do you see the aesthetics industry evolving?
The industry is moving towards a more intelligent and holistic model of care. Rather than relying solely on injectables, there is a growing emphasis on treatments that stimulate the body’s own regenerative
processes. This shift represents a move towards long-term skin health and more refined, natural results. It’s an exciting evolution as it is one that allows us to support patients in ageing well, rather than simply masking the signs of ageing.
