The British Association of Medical Aesthetic Nurses (BAMAN) Northern Ireland Regional Leaders – Emma Heaney, Tanya Khan and Lisa Waring – have announced that they will be stepping down from their roles after years of dedicated service.

The trio has played a pivotal role in supporting members and strengthening professional engagement across the region. Their work as local ambassadors has helped foster a well-connected and collaborative aesthetics community throughout Northern Ireland.

Emma Heaney made the announcement at BAMAN’s Northern Ireland regional meeting on Sunday, April 25, which took place at Face Therapy NI. More than 30 associates attended for a day of educational discussions, presentations and live demonstrations.

Reflecting on her time in the role, Emma Heaney highlighted her passion for raising standards within the aesthetics industry.

She said: “Throughout my career, I have worked tirelessly to set exceptionally high standards, not only within my own business but also across the wider aesthetics industry. Beyond the awards and accolades, what truly means the most to me is supporting and mentoring other practitioners, helping them grow in confidence, refine their skills, and build successful careers of their own.

“To know that I have contributed, even in a small way, to raising standards within aesthetic medicine is something I am incredibly proud of.”

Tanya Khan also reflected on her five years as a BAMAN Northern Ireland Regional Leader.

She said: “Serving as a BAMAN Northern Ireland Regional Leader for the past five years has been a privilege. I am proud of the connections, support networks and sense of community we have built for aesthetic nurses across Northern Ireland.

“BAMAN has played an important role in supporting nurses within aesthetic medicine, and I have been fortunate to work alongside dedicated colleagues, fellow Regional Leaders, Board members and the BAMAN Head Office team, all of whom are committed to strengthening our profession and supporting members throughout their careers.

“Most importantly, I would like to thank the members across Northern Ireland for their support, enthusiasm and willingness to share their knowledge and experiences. It has been a privilege not only to support others, but also to learn alongside so many talented practitioners.

“I have always believed that leadership roles should create opportunities for others to grow and develop. Just as I was once given the chance to contribute to BAMAN, I’m looking forward to seeing the new leaders bring fresh ideas, energy and perspectives to represent our members and continue the excellent work being done across Northern Ireland.”

In a statement, BAMAN expressed its gratitude for the outgoing leaders’ commitment and impact.

Head of Operations, Abigail Geran, said: “During their time with us, they have made truly meaningful contributions to supporting members and strengthening regional engagement across Northern Ireland. As local ambassadors, they have played a crucial role in building a connected and professional community that will continue long after their time in the role.”

Although stepping down from their leadership positions, Heaney, Khan and Waring will remain active members of the organisation. BAMAN confirmed it looks forward to their continued presence at regional meetings and events.

As the association looks to the future, it says the foundation laid by Emma Heaney, Tanya Khan and Lisa Waring will remain instrumental in shaping the next phase of leadership in Northern Ireland.
