BAMAN to Return to Edinburgh with Advanced Cadaveric Anatomy Experience This November

British Association of Medical Aesthetic Nurses (BAMAN) has announced the return of its flagship cadaveric anatomy programme this November, offering medical professionals the opportunity to learn from one of the world’s leading experts in applied facial anatomy.

Taking place at the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, The Anatomy & Injection Experience will be delivered in collaboration with internationally renowned anatomist Professor Sebastian Cotofana. Open to all medical professionals, the two-day programme has been designed to deepen anatomical understanding, improve injection safety and strengthen clinical confidence through immersive, hands-on education.

The programme follows the success of BAMAN’s Cadaveric Dissection and Facial Anatomy Masterclass, held earlier this year in partnership with The A-List Edit. Organised alongside Lisa Waring, Founder of The A-List Edit and former BAMAN Northern Ireland Regional Leader, the event brought together nurses from across the UK to explore facial anatomy through cadaveric dissection with aesthetic nurse Julie Bass Kaplan, Dr Jory Kaplan and Mr Jeff Downie.

For many delegates, it was their first opportunity to observe facial anatomy beneath the skin, with attendees describing the experience as invaluable in developing a deeper understanding of both anatomy and patient safety.

Reflecting on the impact of cadaveric education, Julie Bass Kaplan said:

“For me, cadaver dissections and ultrasound have changed the game. They’ve made it so much safer, and I feel a lot more confident when I inject live people. Hopefully everybody’s going to think in 3D, know the why of what layer to put something in, how to choose the perfect type of filler for that area, and how to handle complications.”

This year’s event builds on that foundation with an expanded educational offering led by Professor Cotofana and his expert faculty.

Day One, the Auditorium Experience, will feature live cadaveric dissections, real-time anatomy teaching and simultaneous injection demonstrations, allowing delegates to observe the relationship between facial anatomy and injection techniques as they happen. The programme is designed to help practitioners better understand the structures beneath the skin and apply that knowledge to safer, more predictable patient outcomes.

Delegates opting for the Advanced Cadaver Lab Experience will continue into a second day of hands-on cadaveric dissection under the guidance of Professor Cotofana and faculty. Working in small groups, participants will explore facial anatomy in greater depth while gaining practical insights they can immediately translate into clinical practice.

The two-day experience also includes an exclusive Faculty Dinner in Edinburgh, a copy of Professor Cotofana’s Manual for Facial Anatomy Courses, course certification and one month’s complimentary access to Professor Cotofana’s online educational platform, a resource valued at $599 and widely recognised for advanced anatomy education.
