ACE Group World is set to launch a newly updated edition of its complications book, offering the latest evidence-based guidance for the management of complications in medical aesthetics.
The complications book is published by the organisation consisting of over 100 pages dealing with complications experienced by the aesthetic practitioners.
Director, Sharon King said the book has undergone a complete overhaul since its last print run in 2020.
“The last print run of the book was in 2020, and there have been a lot of changes and updates since then,” she said. “We’ve had to completely re-write it using the latest literature search around current guidelines, guidance and evidence.”
King explained that the new edition will feature up-to-date guidance on managing a range of complications, alongside practical advice for day-to-day clinical practice.
“The book will include all the current guidelines for managing various complications, as well as best practice, tips and tricks. For example, it takes practitioners through the pathway of a vascular occlusion and what happens. A new update written to go alongside that is how to determine a vascular occlusion in skin of colour, because that’s never been done before.
“The section on managing patient expectations has been completely stripped back and rewritten to reflect all the new changes.”
The book has been written by Dr Martyn King, Sharon King and Linda Mather, with illustrations by Dr Martyn King.
ACE Group World was established to help improve patient safety in medical aesthetics through the development of evidence-based, peer-reviewed guidelines for the management of a wide range of complications.
In addition to publishing clinical guidance, the organisation supports practitioners through a professional forum, email and Emergency Helpline support, educational modules, workshops, access to a faculty of experts, journal articles and further resources designed to support safer practice across the sector.
