Leading plastic surgeon Mr Richard Hanson is set to open the doors to his new specialist facility, The Hanson Clinic.
Located on Fitzwilliam Street Upper in the heart of Dublin, the new clinic marks a significant step in Hanson’s practice, bringing together surgical expertise, non-surgical treatments, and pre and post-operative care under one roof.
Designed to complement his growing surgical practice, The Hanson Clinic will serve as the central hub for all patient consultations, injectable treatments and ongoing care. The move reflects a broader shift towards a more integrated and patient-focused model within aesthetic medicine.
Speaking about the launch, Mr Hanson explained that the clinic is rooted in delivering a more holistic patient journey – particularly for those undergoing facial surgery.
“We’ll see all our patients here, carry out injectables in-house, and support them before and after surgery,” he said. “It’s about creating a space where patients are guided through the entire process, not just the procedure itself.”
A key area of focus for the clinic will be advanced facial rejuvenation, particularly deep plane facelifts. This is an area in which Hanson has undertaken extensive international training. The technique, which targets deeper facial structures for more natural and longer-lasting results, is gaining increasing attention among both practitioners and patients.
“With the face, you have to consider the brow, eyes and neck as a whole,” Hanson added. “That’s where our focus will be over the coming years. Refining outcomes in comprehensive facial rejuvenation.”
In addition to surgical procedures, the clinic will incorporate adjunctive therapies aimed at optimising healing and results. These include red light therapy and hyperbaric oxygen therapy, both of which are intended to support tissue recovery and improve post-operative outcomes.
This emphasis on preparation and aftercare reflects a growing awareness within the industry that aesthetic procedures require careful planning rather than being viewed as quick fixes.
“It’s not just about the surgery,” Hanson said. “It’s about preparing the patient properly, looking at their lifestyle, and supporting recovery to achieve the best possible outcome.”
Initially staffed by a small, specialised team, the clinic plans to expand gradually, with Hanson aiming to bring in a curated group of practitioners, including nurse injectors and allied health professionals such as dietitians and wellness specialists. The goal, he says, is to build a high-level, multidisciplinary service without compromising on quality.
“We want to grow organically and be very selective,” he explained. “It’s about delivering a high standard of care rather than becoming a high-volume clinic.”
The launch of The Hanson Clinic reflects broader trends within the Irish aesthetics market, where demand for specialist-led, medically driven services continues to rise. As the sector evolves, clinics that prioritise expertise, patient education, and comprehensive care pathways are increasingly setting the standard.
For Dublin’s aesthetic community, Mr Hanson’s new venture represents not only a personal milestone, but a noteworthy addition to the city’s growing reputation as a centre for high-quality aesthetic medicine.
